Smoking Cessation

Hypnotherapy

to help you quit smoking

  • A powerful, effective and fast way to quit smoking for good

  • 'Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever scientific comparison of ways of giving up.' (Source: New Scientist - vol 136, issue 1845, Oct 31 1992)

Clinical trials

“Hypnosis is the most effective way of giving up smoking, according to the largest ever scientific comparison of ways of breaking the habit.” - New Scientist - v136.

As far back as 1992, New Scientist Magazine published the results of an extensive clinical study on the most effective methods of smoking cessation. More than 600 studies (over 72,000 individual cases) showed that single session hypnosis increased a smoker's success chance by 10 times from 6% to 60%. The success rates for different smoking cessation methods were:

60% - Single session Hypnosis
24% - Acupuncture
10% - Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT)
  6% - Willpower alone

Note that the NHS preferred treatment method is currently NRT which is marginally better than “cold turkey” or willpower alone.

How do I help you to stop smoking?

If you smoke a moderate amount per day - e.g. 10-20 - 1 session is normally enough as the clinical trials showed. For heavier smokers 2-3 sessions would be more appropriate.

Will it work?

You have to want to stop smoking - for yourself - it won't work if you're doing it to please someone else, or because someone else has asked you to get help. You have to do it for you, when you are ready to stop. This is when it is most effective.
